A Morning Prayer

Rich and great is your love oh Lord,

Your mercies are new every morning.

Oh, that we might love You with the love You’ve given us,

And live to your glory through the life in us You’re forming.

Oh Lord, Your majestic glory is all around,

Creation expresses You in all we hear, taste, smell and see.

Your salvation is the richest gift ever to be found,

Christ, the expression of Your love, the gift so rich and free.

Lord, our eyes and hearts are often wandering.

They would lead us away from the fountain of life.

May we live, each day of our lives, not in foolish squandering,

But rather as spiritual sacrifices, yielded to Your redeeming knife.

Lord, You desire to work in us Your life and godliness.

Help us transform our minds and commit to Your will on earth.

Clothe us with Your vestures for righteousness and holiness,

May we abide in Your presence filled with your love, joy and mirth.

Oh, what a friend we have in Jesus,

His life He gave to redeem His own,

Help us not to live life just to please us,

But to press deeper in You, with heavenly groan.

You, oh Lord, are the Resurrection and the Life,

The blessed hope and redemption for all mankind.

Let us not forsake or neglect such a holy sacrifice,

In You there’s no greater treasure we could ever find.

Oh, that You might be pleased with the lives we’ve lived,

Unto You this day our hearts and lives we bring,

May you find joy and pleasure in all Your kids,

Father, Unto You we give thankful praise in everything.
