Jeremiah 14:6
Wild donkeys stand on the barren heights and pant like jackals; their eyesight fails for lack of pasture.”
7 Although our sins testify against us, O LORD, do something for the sake of your name. For our backsliding is great; we have sinned against you. 8 O Hope of Israel, its Savior in times of distress,
why are you like a stranger in the land, like a traveler who stays only a night? 9 Why are you like a man taken by surprise, like a warrior powerless to save? You are among us, O LORD, and we bear your name;
do not forsake us!

You are the Pastures of God’s Truth

This word of Jeremiah could well speak of the spiritual condition of our nation today. As a nation we have lost the spiritual vision of who we are. Our backsliding is great and many have forsaken the name of the Lord. As a result the pastures of spiritual provision have dried up for many. A spiritual famine has beset those who have gone in their own way and embraced the secular viewpoint of society today. There is a leanness of soul that has come upon many today. Many have become disillusioned with religion and the tele-evangelism of yesterday when they saw the greediness of men’s hearts revealed in the name of God.
There is a remnant that knows their God and who hold fast the faith. It is this remnant that has preserved this nation up to this hour. Their prayers and intercession have not gone unheard. God has been preparing a people for such a time as this that they may be the pasture in the midst of a spiritual wilderness. They are the streams of water that will provide the knowledge and life of God to those who are now seeking for real truth and meaning in their lives.
People of God prepare yourselves for all that the Lord has poured within you over the years. Those who are in spiritual famine He will move upon to bring them to drink from the wells of salvation. You are about to be poured out for a people that are hungry for the truth and who the Spirit of the Lord is drawing. There is a field ripe unto harvest and we are the laborers sent forth to gather in the harvest.
The Lord has not forsaken His name and He will show Himself mighty among those who hold it fast in their hearts. Come and refresh yourselves in the Lord for we are His people, called forth by His name to show the way of salvation and righteousness.

Stand and Speak

May 25, 2012

Acts 5:20
Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life.

Stand and Speak

As the angel of God spoke these words to Peter, does not the Spirit of the Lord speak this command to us today?  Wherever your temple or the platform God may provide for us is, let us speak forth the words of this Life.  We know that this Life is Christ and His word does not return unto Him void, but is able to accomplish that for which it was sent.  First, it has to be spoken.  Even as Jesus was the mouthpiece of God the Father, so we are His mouthpiece to speak the words of this Life to those in our place and in our world.
Let the richness of God’s word indwell you, but don’t be a sealed well or a fountain shut up.  Go stand and speak in the temple to the people all of the words of this life.  As we set our eyes upon Jesus, our faith and trust resting in Him, He will be the expression of Life through us to draw men to Him.   Let the words that you speak today be saturated with the honey of God’s love and His word.  Be a source of encouragement and blessing to the other brothers and sisters that are among you.  Let us be bold to be His witness and proclaim His Good News in word and in deed.
