Intimidation of Fear

Intimidation of Fear

Proverbs 28:1

1THE WICKED flee when no man pursues them, but the [uncompromisingly] righteous are bold as a lion.

There was once an old dog that ruled his master with fear and intimidation.  If the master didn’t do what the dog wanted he would growl fiercely and raise the hair on the back of his neck until the man did what he wanted.  Out of fear and the intimidation the dog communicated and the master would do whatever the dog wanted.  So it was the dog that ruled the man, rather than the man that ruled the dog.  The truth was that the dog was old and was missing most of his teeth, but through fear and intimidation the dog had mastered his master.

There is an old dog in this world, called satan, who is much the same.  With the power and authority that he has, he seeks to continue to hold mankind captive.  He is seen in the spirit of this world and how many of us have not spoken out and been what we needed to be for Christ because we were afraid of what others would think or how they would view us.  There are many areas that fear and intimidation have ruled over us and we have bowed to it.  We have sought our acceptance and favor from one that is defeated, is perishing and whose days are numbered.

On the other hand, if we truly fear God out of love and serve Him, He can give back to us the authority that He created us with as it states in Genesis 1:26.  “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.”  We should know that the serpent is a creeping thing and whatever dominion he gained through the fall of Adam and Eve, was restored back to us at Calvary.  Jesus took back the keys and he led captivity captive and He gave gifts unto men.  Gifts that are for helping the Church come into the unity and fullness of Christ.

The serpent feeds on dust.  He can only feed upon our flesh, but the man of the Spirit doesn’t walk and live by the flesh.  He lives after the Spirit.  Why was it that satan had nothing in Jesus?  He walked after the Spirit and not after the flesh.  There was nothing for satan to feed on.  Have you ever noticed that whenever we give place to temptation and sin that the more we feed and give life to it the stronger it grows until it rules us?

Have there ever been times in your life when you were coming to God in a special way, receiving a special revelation or truth or finding God in a new and greater dimension?  What happened?  Quite likely you were assaulted with fear, doubt, condemnation and intimidation.  Satan bore what few teeth he has left and really growled at you so that you would fear and not believe, so that you would be intimidated and not receive.  He is come to steal, kill and destroy.  But when the fear in us of this creeping thing is broken and we are cognizant of the fact that we are created in the image of God and that God Himself has declared that we should have dominion, then the power of fear and intimidation is broken.  Only by permission of God can satan touch our lives and outer man.

“Will why doesn’t God protect us and not let satan hurt us any more?”  If He did that we would never lay hold of the victory and the authority that Christ obtained for us at Calvary.  We would never come to lay hold of the overcomer that Christ wants to be through us.  As Paul once said, “the outward man is perishing, but the inward man is renewed day by day.”  The enemy will do all it can to instill fear and intimidation.  Look what he did to the early church.  Yet, in the midst of great persecution the early Church grew like wild fire.  Why?  People found something more real, more powerful and more liberating than even physical life itself.

It is time we quit cowering before this old dog.  When we put on Christ, when we become identified with His name, then we know that our authority in Him is greater than any in earth or in heaven.  Jesus said, ‘I do not my will, but the will of the Father.’  You see the Father was then releasing His power and authority through the Son.  When we come not to do our will, but the will of the Father then the Christ will be manifested through us.  There is no authority that can stand against the authority that is in Christ.  He is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.  We are His ambassadors sent with the signet ring of the King and the seal of the Holy Spirit.  That is why the uncompromisingly righteous are as bold as lions.

It is time for us to no longer succumb to fear and intimidation from the old, “has been” dog.  It is time that we stepped into our role as master over all that God has commanded to be under our feet.  In Christ you have authority and dominion over much more than you know, but your power is in living through Christ and His living through you.  It is IN Christ that we can do all things, forsaking those things that hinder us and that are food for satan to feed upon.  Come into your identity of Christ in you, your hope of glory.

Knowing Him from the Beginning

1 John 2:13-14
I write unto you, fathers, because ye have known him [that is] from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the wicked one. I write unto you, little children, because ye have known the Father. I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him [that is] from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not (John 1:1-5).”

What is it to know Him who is from the beginning? It is the dimension and place of Fatherhood that comes to know God from the place of initiation, purpose and being. It is a place where we go back into God before time, before place and before this existence. He was and we were there with Him in Spirit. Fathers are the procreators of life. Their place is to give forth life and then to nurture it to maturity. This is in them, because their Father is in them and they intimately know and have fellowship with Him who is the beginning. Not to make this too mystical, but the one thing that a father has is maturity. In that maturity there develops an intimacy of knowledge, not of just the intellectual kind, but of the Spirit kind; the knowing that comes as we are dwelling in His presence in a life that is filled with Him at the forefront of our daily existence.
There is a knowing of God that goes beyond the natural intellect into the eternal mind and heart of God. There is an exchange of life that takes place whereby, like Job who lost all of his children, a father is not shaken by the natural circumstances. Those aren’t His reality. His reality is rooted and grounded in the God and Father he has come to know from the beginning and that beginning is not limited to this natural life existence. It is grounded in the heavenlies and the eternal.
A younger person’s focus is on what is before them whereas a father’s focuses is on the big picture and on the whole counsel and plan of God. He is identified in Christ in listening to the Spirit for the instructions that are the heart, mind and will of God.
Fathers are necessary to the body of Christ because they possess vision, depth and a revelation that are needed to give grounding and hope as they live out lives of faithfulness in the fear of God. They possess the promises of God and walking them out. They speak and live out of a wisdom that is not their own, but rather it is the Anointing that guides them and leads them into all truth. You may not recognize them from their outward appearance, but you will recognize them as you begin to sound the depths of their spirit.
Little children know the God of salvation and forgiveness of sins. Young men know the place of spiritual battle and overcoming. The fathers know Him who is from the beginning. Their lives are lived out of the substance of the Word of God. Their existence may be in this world, but it is not their substance. You might say they have found their roots and they have become one with them. The beginning is a place of creation and bringing into being. God wants to bring us up and mature us into His beginning and His Being.

2 Corinthians 2:10
For the weapons of our warfare [are] not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds

Through the Heat of Battle

In the trenches of spiritual warfare you are not often going to look your best. In the daily battles and encounters we have we are often sweaty, dirty, tired and even bloody, bruised and wounded. Those who are walking out their faith are not dressed for ceremony they are dressed for battle. In the battle you most likely will not feel like a good warrior or hero. You may be scared, discouraged, fatigued, hurting and just trying to survive. While you may feel inside to be anything but an overcomer, that is who you are as you endure the battle and stand faithful to the banner of your faith. The survivors and heroes of war weren’t wearing their medals on their chest in the midst of the battle, those medals were the result of their fortitude, their faithfulness, their courage in the midst of the battle when all they were seeing around them was pain, suffering and death. Yet there was something in their character and in their hearts that brought them through the battle. Those men and women weren’t decorated with medals because they conducted themselves well, when everything was going good and they were at peace. Most medals are won in the midst of battle where if we get through it, it is not without loss and pain physically, spiritually and emotionally.
Many of you are on the spiritual battlegrounds today. It may not have been your choice, but you are there in the midst of the battle none the less. Most of us would like to just speak a word and have those battles resolved and go away, but we find that we are in a war that often rages on day after day. Some days we are not sure we can make it through another one, but somehow, by the grace of God, we do. God wants you to know that this is not a sign of your weakness or your defeat, it is the proving ground of your victory and your triumph. The enemy is fighting to take your life, but by your faithfulness and the fortitude of your faith, God is forming in you the heart of courage and the qualities of heroes. By your continued faithfulness you are prevailing and you are conquering, even though in your heart you may feel very discouraged and defeated. It is in these places that we learn to crawl out of the weakness of our flesh and put on Christ who is our strength and our life. We may have to endure the battle while in these weak and frail bodies, but in our spirits and in our hearts we have put off the flesh and put on Christ who is our strength. Through Him we are more than conquerors and can do all things. If He leads us into battle then we must trust that He can sustain us through it.
Whatever your battle and whatever front your are fighting on, whether it be health, finances, job, emotional, family problems, persecution, or whatever, He is there for you. In these places of battle the enemy tries to strip us of our dignity, our faith, our confidence and assurance. He rails upon us with condemnation, throwing before us our weakness and defeats. We can not take his bait. Sometimes he causes hurts so severe that we will harbor, hate, anger and unforgiveness. He assaults us on many fronts, but we must be wise and discerning of His tactics, holding fast the Word of God as our standard of truth and reality. We are what the Word of God says we are. 1 Peter 2:9-11 says of us, “9But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 10Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.
11Dear friends, I urge you, as aliens and strangers in the world, to abstain from sinful desires, which war against your soul. 12Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.”
Be encouraged today; strengthen yourself in His faithfulness. Stay the course, endure the battle and finish the race. “Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. (1 John 4:17)”

BATTLE CRY!

March 9, 2015

Revelation 12:10-11
And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

BATTLE CRY!

What I am hearing in my spirit is NOW is the kingdom come. The battle is upon us and the day of preparation is at hand. Ready yourself for battle! Put on your spiritual armor and sharpen your sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. Make strong your shield of faith. Place well your breastplate of righteousness. Gird your loins and your reproductive powers with truth. Put on that helmet of salvation wherein your mind is renewed in Christ and you operate out of the covering and paradigm of His kingdom life and power. Protect your mind from powers of doubt, fear and unbelief. Have your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace, for you are about to carry it and demonstrate it in the earth. All these things are as Ephesians 6 teaches us, “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” Get it out of your head that you are just trying to survive and make it through. We are a violent people and a spiritual force to be reckoned with. God is empowering, training and preparing you for the hour we are coming into. We are going to do things that we have never done and experience things that we have never experienced because the manifestation of God Spirit is going to be so mighty through us.
We know that Jesus is the prototype of what we are becoming. We know that as 1 John 4:17 says, “Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.” We are standing in the day of judgement. This is our hour and the day has come. Either be prepared in your spirit to face it or be judged by it. These are sobering times, not just in the realm of economy, but in the realm of the spirit. We can readily see wickedness waxing worse and worse before us. There is no more time for spiritual sleep and slumber for this is a day and time for action. Hear this, people of God, as a trumpet from heaven calling you to prepare for battle, for it is coming whether you are ready or not.
In Matthew 11:12 it says, “And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.” Ask yourself what happened from the time of John the Baptist? Jesus came manifesting the kingdom. Principalities and powers of darkness had overrun this kingdom of heaven, but now the King of Kings has showed up. He is the violent One that is taking it by force. The sick are being healed, the blind see, the lame walk, evil spirits are cast out and the even the dead are raised up. How about it people of God? Are your ready for some spiritual violence? The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells in you (Romans 8). These are powerful times in the spirit realm. If you are being shaken in your life it so everything that can be shaken will be and everything that is not of God will be burned up so that you may come forth in purity, righteousness and in the power of God. The gospel will no longer be in word only, but with the demonstration of the Spirit and power. God has to change our old way of thinking because He is moving us into a new age and time. His kingdom is coming and we had better learn how to operate out of it.
You are a new generation. You are called to be spiritual warriors and overcomers. This is a day for radical faith and uncompromising confidence in the One we serve and love. It starts in you by stepping out right where God has you and with what He has placed in your life. What is in your hand? Like Moses, throw it down and see what the Lord will do. Be faithful to declare and speak His kingdom right where you are at and into the peoples lives He has placed you with. This seed of faith will grow into a mighty tree.
What that violent Jesus started He is going to finish through His people for He has set down at the right hand of the Father until His enemies be made His footstool. That means they are put under His feet and who are the feet of Jesus but you and I? These are dynamic and exciting times! Get up and get dressed. Put on your whole armor, for the battle rages before us!

Empowered for Good

January 15, 2015

Acts 10:38
How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

Empowered for Good

Today, in Christ, God is with you. How will you impact your world? There is an anointing of the Holy Spirit within you to empower you for goodness and for righteousness. We all have the power to impact our world and the people around us in a positive and powerful way. As you yield to the Spirit and are sensitive to Him, He may work through you to perform a miracle, deliverance or a healing. Never discount that this can and will happen, but more importantly be sensitive to how you can minister life, encouragement and blessing to your world. You are the priests of the Lord. You are His expression to carry out His will even as Jesus of Nazareth is living through you today.
Ephesians 6:10 says, “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.”
Dress yourself in spiritual garments today and equip yourself not only to stand in the battle against darkness, but also to be clothed with the vesture of light and godliness so that all might see and acknowledge God through your good works.
Go and minister life and light in every dark corner and at every opportunity. God is with you to empower you to do good.

Pregnant with Child

Pregnant with Child

Revelations 12:1-6
1A great and wondrous sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head. 2She was pregnant and cried out in pain as she was about to give birth. 3Then another sign appeared in heaven: an enormous red dragon with seven heads and ten horns and seven crowns on his heads. 4His tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth. The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that he might devour her child the moment it was born. 5She gave birth to a son, a male child, who will rule all the nations with an iron scepter. And her child was snatched up to God and to his throne. 6The woman fled into the desert to a place prepared for her by God, where she might be taken care of for 1,260 days.

There are those to whom this passage may seem intimidating and too spiritual to understand, but what would the Lord speak to us through it today? We perceive this woman that is pregnant here to be the Church.
1 Peter 1:23-25 tells us, “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. For all flesh [is] as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.” This self-same seed of the divine Word of Life has impregnated the Church who is the Bride and the wife of the Lamb. Here she is clothed as the sun, the righteousness and glory of God, sitting in a place of divine dominion and authority, but still obviously in contention and opposition with satan represented in the great red dragon with the dominion and authority that is still his. Here we are at a climatic time in spiritual history very much in keeping with what we saw when Christ Jesus was born in the earth and how Herod, an instrument of satan, tried to destroy this man child by ordering all of the infants and young children of Bethlehem to be put to death.
The purpose of the Church is to bring up and birth a holy offspring; this corresponds with what we read in Romans 8:19-23, “For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected [the same] in hope, Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. And not only [they], but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, [to wit], the redemption of our body.” In Revelations 2 and 3 where exhortations are given to each of the Churches; at the end of each, a promise is given to him that overcomes. God is looking for a company of overcomers that will grow up into Him who is the head even Christ. Ephesians 4:11-16 tells us the mind and purpose of God concerning the Church and her children, “It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, 12to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
14Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming. 15Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ. 16From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.”
The word of the Lord to us is that He wants a people of maturity, no longer little children tossed to and fro and moved by every wind of doctrine, but those who know and are established in who they are in Christ. There is a day and time when these mature ones will be revealed in authority and power. The purpose of the enemy is to destroy and devour them, but the purpose of God is that they would be the catalyst that would bring war in heaven where satan will be cast down and Christ’s enemies will be made his footstool. Our calling today is to grow up into Him in all things, to be the overcomers and those who would set creation free as His fullness and authority is revealed in this man child. Is this not what Paul saw when he said in Philippians 3:12-16, “12Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
15All of us who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you. 16Only let us live up to what we have already attained.”

Raise the Standard

October 23, 2012

Matthew 5:14-16
“You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. 15Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.”

Raise the Standard

Raise up a standard, the stakes are high. Set your heart upon me and don’t allow it to be moved. Praise Me in all things and acknowledge Me in all that you do. You are a separated people; a people of My possession, a holy temple and a royal priesthood.
Takes your eyes off of the earthly mess and only upon Me let them rest. I am the sovereign One. Mine is the light from the sunset to the rising sun. In the darkness of this present age, I am your guide that lights your way.
Come now you who have broke amends, who have not lived up to the promises and vows that you made. Know that in your strength you often fail, but in My strength you can prevail. Take hold of My hand and I will lift you up, but also be willing to drink from My cup.
I stand with you when you can’t see and even when you wonder what has become of Me.
I am not always there to bail you out, but to exercise your faith without fear and doubt. It is an overcoming people that I will raise up. They have known My blessings, but have also drank from suffering’s cup.
Rise up My people. My people rise up. You are the light that illumines this darkened land, that brings the water of truth to its dust and sand. You are My rain that refreshes the earth, washing from it fear and gloom, death and dearth. You bring hope, because of what you have seen. You know of the blood that has washed you clean. Carry My light to each nation’s shore. Carry the truth to your neighbor’s door. People be the light of My glorious presence. Carry My love, My life and My essence.

Blessings,
