Stellar

Matthew 5:16

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Stars are made up of bodies of matter filled with gas and ablaze with glory.  God has filled the heavens with them and they speak in type of His people that will be as the stars of heaven.  When God spoke to Abraham, He gave Him a promise and He compared it with the stars.  Genesis 15:5 says, “And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.”  God is still making stars.

The word “stellar” came to me this morning and when I looked it up it said, “1. Of, relating to, or consisting of stars.  2. Of or relating to a star performer. b. Outstanding; principal.”  I believe there is a correlation in these two definitions as seen in the people of God.  You see stars are nothing but burned out matter if they not filled with gases and set ablaze in glory.  Are we any different?  What are we if we are not filled with the Spirit and set ablaze with the glory of God?  That is what makes a spiritual star.  It is the life in the spirit that translates us from the terrestrial to the celestial.  God’s people are not only the redeemed of the Lord, but they are redeemed to be the outshining of His glory.

Our objective is not to get all mystical, but to draw the correlation between the natural and the spiritual much as Paul did.  In 1 Corinthians 15:41-49 he teaches, “[There are] also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial [is] one, and the [glory] of the terrestrial [is] another.  [There is] one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for [one] star differeth from [another] star in glory. So also [is] the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:  It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:  It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body  And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam [was made] a quickening spirit Howbeit that [was] not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual  The first man [is] of the earth, earthy: the second man [is] the Lord from heaven.  As [is] the earthy, such [are] they also that are earthy: and as [is] the heavenly, such [are] they also that are heavenly.  And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.”  Are we getting a glimpse that God is out to change our state of being?

In the book of Daniel this point is brought out again concerning the “wise ones” of God.  Daniel 12:3 prophesies, ” And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.”  What do these stars do?  They are wise in the things of the Spirit and their purpose is to turn many to righteousness.  What must we be as stellar Christians and men and women of God?  By definition we must be “star performers of spiritual truth and outstanding; principals of righteousness.”  Paul tells us in his discourse that not all bodies of glory are the same; even among the stars, “one star differs from another star in glory.”  While we all may be stars there are different intensities of glory and manifest outshining.  There is something to be said for manifesting the heavenly while in the earth.  Psalm 136:8-9 says, ” The sun to rule by day: for his mercy [endureth] for ever.  The moon and stars to rule by night: for his mercy [endureth] for ever.”  The earth is in a state of spiritual darkness, ignorance and sin.  It is we as the body of Christ and His ministers to be the moon and the stars that rule the night.  We cannot rule that which rules us.  Without the light that God wants to manifest through us, the world would perish in sin and darkness.  We show the way of the Lord before men.  Isaiah 6:3 says, ” Thou shalt also be a crown of glory in the hand of the LORD, and a royal diadem in the hand of thy God.”  We must be His stellar performers of righteousness and truth, outstanding and principaled in godliness.  It is only in the putting off of the terrestrial that we step into the celestial; it is only as we put off corruption that we put on incorruption.  Yes, the day of the Lord will fully declare it, but it will be the declaration of what is taking place in you and me right now.  We are His stars, his heavenly ones, and his diadems.  Let us declare His glory throughout the earth with lives that are stellar with His presence.

Blessings,
