The Power of a Voice

Psalm 103:20

Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.

The Power of a Voice

John 1:1-3 says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was with God in the beginning. 3Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4In him was life, and that life was the light of men. 5The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.”  We who are in Christ know this Word to be the Christ, that which was with the Father from the beginning and was the active voice of God that brought creation into existence.   He was like the spoken word of faith from the mouth of God that became substance.

Hebrews 1:1-4 declares, “In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, 2but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe. 3The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. 4So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs.”  Jesus Christ was the voice of God’s authority.  Through that voice angels and ministering spirits of strength and power moved at His command to carry out His will in the Spirit and bring it into manifestation in the natural.  Hebrews 4:13 goes on to say, “13To which of the angels did God ever say, “Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet”? 14Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?  The Lord Jesus has come and conquered death.  He has led captivity captive.  He has given the provision of His salvation to us spirit, soul and body.  He has set down now at the right hand of the Father until His enemies become a footstool of His feet.  What comprises the feet of Christ if it is not His body and even the lowest of His members?

Romans 8: 10-17 says, “10But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness. 11And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you. 12Therefore, brothers, we have an obligation—but it is not to the sinful nature, to live according to it. 13For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live, 14because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. 15For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” 16The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. 17Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.”  If we are his children then we are coheirs with Christ both in His suffering and in His glory.  Christ expressed His voice in all that He accomplished for us, now we are to become the voice of God to bring into fulfillment all that He accomplished.  The power and dynamics are in place for us to move in the power of God.  His ministering angels are ministering and warring on our behalf.  They are sent to serve those who will inherit salvation.  We have a spiritual battlefront before us along with the authority and the power to conquer our enemy.  It doesn’t mean that it won’t be bloody at times and without cost, but operate out of Him who has conquered death and led captivity captive.  We are His voice of authority in the earth as we move in the Spirit and in the will of the Lord.

This is why it is so powerful for us to speak and exercise God’s Word in every situation, because His Word is the final authority and power.  You are His voice.  You are joint-heirs with Christ.  Do you realize the power and authority that He gives you in His Name?  Let us quit looking at our circumstances, because the One who created the universe is the final Word in all matters and we are the voice of that Word.  ‘The power of death and life are in the tongue’ according to Proverbs so let us use that Word to produce life in us and in others.  Let us use that Word to defeat all of the powers of darkness both in our lives and in the world around us.  You are the voice of His power.  Speak!

Blessings,
