Isaiah 60:3

1Jerusalem, stand up! Shine! Your new day is dawning. The glory of the LORD shines brightly on you.

2The earth and its people are covered with darkness, but the glory of the LORD is shining upon you.

3Nations and kings will come to the light of your dawning day.

Proclamations to New Jerusalem

Isaiah prophesies of a New Day coming to the earth.  There is a New Day when Christ shall come in His people and His glory shall shine forth in us.  Paul describes it in 2 Thessalonians 1:10, “when He comes, in that Day, to be glorified in His saints and to be admired among all those who believe, because our testimony among you was believed.”

We are often inclined to think, ‘yeah, but that is way off in the future sometime, so what does that have to do with me now?’  It has everything to do with you now, because “now” is your future inheritance in Christ.   We have a few short years in this earth to make a difference and to fulfill what God has placed us here for.  He has given us the talents and He has stepped back to see what we will do with them.  Will we use them for the kingdom?  Will we use them for selfish gain?  Will we hide them in our earthen vessels and never invest what we have to give into the kingdom?  Even for the young person, life is but a fleeting moment.  As we get older we realize how short that wick of our human existence is.  What are we living for, this brief moment or for our glory in Christ?  For life to have meaning, it has to have purpose.  Our purpose is in Christ and in His will for our lives.  Are you living a purpose driven life?

Bring all that you are daily and be willing to place it upon the altar.  Romans 12:1-2 exhorts us, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”  If we miss the Lord, we miss life and all that is worth living for.  Let us not just live for the moment, but let us live for eternity even today. Unveil the shadows of your purpose in the light of His glorious calling.  God has called those that live unto His purpose to glory. The glory of His life fully manifested in you.

Blessings,
