Blessed is the Man who Trusts in the Lord

Jeremiah 17:7-8
“But blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.
8He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”

Blessed is the Man who Trusts in the Lord

Do you know why the man who trust in the Lord has no worries in the year of drought? It is because he is tapped into a different stream that is not of this world. He has learned to draw his security and confidence from a different economy than one that goes up and down. His dependence is not on the seasons, or the weather or the natural things of this earth. The man who really knows how to trust God is tapped into a stream that never runs dry. That’s where his roots go to be watered and there he is established so that his leaves will always be green and he will never fail to bear fruit because he is not rooted in the natural things that are subject to change and failure.
Peace is the resting place for this man, even in the midst of the greatest storm, because in that stream is a Rock that can not be moved and he has put down his roots to wrap around that Rock so that he always held firmly in place.
People may perish all around him, but it will not come nigh him, because he is planted next to the river of LIFE. It is as Psalm 91:9-16 says, “If you make the Most High your dwelling—
even the Lord, who is my refuge—10then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent. 11For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways;
12they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
13You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
14“Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. 15He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. 16With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation.””
If you are planted by the river of this natural life and economy it will dry up. If you put your trust in man you will be disappointed. “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord.”

Blessings,
kent
