Living in a New Dimension

Romans 8:1-17
1Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 2because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death. 3For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in sinful man, 4in order that the righteous requirements of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the sinful nature but according to the Spirit.
5Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. 6The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace; 7the sinful mindf is hostile to God. It does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. 8Those controlled by the sinful nature cannot please God.
9You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ. 10But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness. 11And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you.
12Therefore, brothers, we have an obligation—but it is not to the sinful nature, to live according to it. 13For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live, 14because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. 15For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship.  And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” 16The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. 17Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.

Living in a New Dimension

Romans 8 is perhaps one of the most high velocity and revolutionary chapters in the Word of God because it speaks so powerfully into who we are and who we are not.  So many of us continue to carry with us this “Old Man” mentality.  It is so detrimental to our spiritual walk and the identity of who we are in Christ Jesus.  In the church world there is so much emphasis and how to change the old man and become better.  In the Lord’s eyes the old man no longer exists to the believer in Christ Jesus.  He has been nailed with Jesus to the cross.  He was buried and he passed away in that old law of sin and death.  This is the whole significance of water baptism to help our minds comprehend this reality that old things and old natures have passed away and behold we have been resurrected in Christ into the newness of His life.
Father has brought us into a new dimension, a new realm and a new place.  Things may look much the same outwardly, but now we are to be living out of a new law.  It is just like if we go to outer space, many of the laws that restrict and rule us here, no longer are in effect in that dimension.  In Christ, the law of the Spirit of Life, has set us free from the law of sin and death.
Jesus tells us in John 4 that God is Spirit and they that worship Him must worship in Spirit and in Truth.  This is the reality of where we should now be living.  Yes, we maintain the outward man,  with its weaknesses and flaws, but now we realize that what we could never change from “the outside in”, because of the weakness of our flesh.  We can be transformed from “the inside out” through the power and in-working of the Spirit of Christ in us.  We have to spiritually grasp the paradigm shift that has taken place.  When we do, we will reckon ourselves dead to sin, but alive unto Christ.  Everything that we formally were was hostile to God, nevertheless, God’s grace in Christ has brought us into the place where now we are the friend of God; not only are we the friend of God, but God calls us His sons.  In order for us to walk in this place of sonship we have to be led by the Spirit of God and live out of that law of the Spirit of Life that is in Christ Jesus.  This passage is telling us what that looks like.  The sinful nature of the person we were has to be past tense, because it can’t effectually operate in this dimension and realm.
Yes, we all still deal with our issues.
How do we deal with them?
Romans 8:13 provides us with the key.  “… but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live, 14because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.”  It is the Spirit of God within you that is empowering you to live a victorious life and overcome the areas of the former realm you are still dealing with.  Remember, that is not who you are or what you are any longer, so don’t let the enemy try and put that identity back on you.  This is what happens so often to so many of us.  We find ourselves living again in the identity of who we were in our former man, rather than who we now are in Christ.  Your identity is paramount to your victory.  You can’t be victorious in something that you think your not.  Where there is no faith, there is no victory.  Faith is not looking at the thing you see, it is looking at the things you can not see, but that God says are true.  Only the faith in His truth can make them a reality to you.  As you walk by the Spirit, out of the power of the Spirit, believing what God says about you, you will find yourself being transformed from glory to glory even into the same likeness as Jesus.  This only follows if Father God has put His DNA in you through His Spirit.  Your spiritual birth should cause you to grow up in His likeness.
Remember who you are, and the law that you now function under.  It is no longer the law of sin and death that leads to your condemnation.  You live under the law of FREEDOM!  The law of the Spirit of Life that has set you free from the law of sin and death.  Don’t allow yourself to be put under that law again as we find the Galatians starting to do as they started yielding to that old mindset and teaching of the law.
Father wants His highest for you.  Get a revelation of who you are and don’t settle for anything less.  You are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus and His Spirit bears witness with our spirit that we are His children; heirs and joint-heirs with Christ.  Live out of that new dimension of His Spirit Life

Blessings,
kent
